Katherine:
Katherine has been fascinated by, working with, and caring for animals for as long as she can remember. Katherine's interest in nutrition and natural health was inspired when, after years of searching for ways to help her chronically ill cat, he was made well through a raw diet, supplements and homeopathy. This experience motivated her to pursue over ten years of study and earn certifications in homeopathy, nutrition and herbalism so that she could use her knowledge to help others help their dogs and cats. Before joining The Natural Dog in 2009, she worked for several years as an assistant to a homeoathic veterinarian.
Katherine considers her own dogs and cats and those of The Natural Dog staff and customers among her best teachers and is grateful for the opportunity to learn something new from them every day. She has been a raw feeder for over ten years and is a big advocate of species-appropriate nutrition. She is passionate about animal welfare and has been a volunteer and foster home for several dog and cat rescue organizations.
Originally from New Jersey, Katherine has also lived in New York, Western Massachusetts and Iowa. She now makes her home in Amesbury, MA, where she lives with her dog, Calla, and three black cats, Beatle, Vesper, and Papi. She enjoys studying herbs and supplements, hiking with her dog, cooking, and preparing herbal concoctions using herbs from her garden.
